PIGG-O-STAT

Ian woke up on Monday with a cough and it just didn't get any better as the week wore on. After a particularly rough night (he was up early enough to take his first nap at 6:30a), we got in to see a Nurse Practitioner this morning (his regular doc is on vacation until next Wednesday) and she diagnosed Ian with pneumonia based upon the sound of his lungs and the x-ray they took. That was a first for us - the x-ray, I mean. The tech rolled over the contraption you see here and told me, "he'll cry because he won't like this but that's okay, because I'll get a better picture of his lungs when he takes a deep breath in between cries." So she put him in this thing and...he didn't cry. He just hooked his hands over the top of the plexiglass and looked at the tech and me as if to say, "Is this it?" So the tech wriggled his legs to see if that would get him to cry, and...he laughed (his thighs are most ticklish). Ian is just a charmer to everyone he meets. Even the x-ray tech. So he's on Amoxicilin and we're using a nebulizer with an Albuterol solution to help him breathe. Hope he sleeps tonight!
