Adam's cake, Tow Mater from the Cars movies. We own the first movie and we have several books. Adam has a ritual that he and dad read Ian's Tractor Tipping Tag reader book with Mater and Lightning McQueen, so I thought it would be appropriate to make Mater for Adam's birthday

These first two pictures are of Mater before I applied dust to make him rusty. This was the first time I tried covering a cake with fondant and Mater turned out a little...melted looking, but the cake underneath was chocolate-chocolate-chip and tasted just fine!

Adam seemed a little unsure of Mater at first - he poked the cake several times...

but said "Cheese" for the camera and enjoyed his birthday cake with chocolate ice cream!
